Jet Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Crack in Cockpit Window
A jet carrying the US defense secretary was required to make an unplanned landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the plane's windshield, as stated by an official announcement which confirmed that all passengers were secure.
"The jet touched down in accordance with standard procedures and all passengers, such as Pete Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson said in a public statement.
He was traveling back from a short visit to the Belgian capital during the flight.
This incident isn't the first time that a United States armed forces jet transporting a high-ranking official has suffered equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a American military jet ferrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Munich was compelled to return to Washington after experiencing a technical issue.
