Over 36,000 individuals have escaped Sudan's Kordofan area eastern part of Darfur since Saturday, as stated by the UN's migration agency.

The key central region separating the country's Darfur regions and the capital region has over recent weeks become the newest conflict zone in the extended civil war between the Sudanese armed forces and the paramilitary forces.

Substantial Evacuation Numbers

An approximated 36,825 people fled five districts in North Kordofan province between 26 October and 31 October, as reported by the International Organization for Migration.

The individuals, most on foot, moved toward Tawila, a town to the west of El Fasher that is currently accommodating more than 652,000 evacuated individuals.

Escalated Forces Deployment

Local inhabitants of North Kordofan on Monday described a substantial rise in both RSF and army concentration across towns and villages throughout the state.

Both armed factions are vying for control of El Obeid, the North Kordofan regional capital and a critical supply and command hub that links Darfur to Khartoum.

"Today, all our forces have gathered at the Bara front here," stated an RSF member in a recently distributed video statement.

Local Residents Report Protection Issues

A resident of Um Smeima, located west of El Obeid, reported that the number of RSF vehicles had risen considerably since the group's seizure of El Fasher.

"We ceased visiting our farms, concerned about fighting," the resident explained.

Another civilian, who asked to remain unnamed for security reasons, also reported that "there has been a significant rise in army vehicles and weapons west and south of El Obeid" over the past two weeks.

International Warnings and Appeals

A senior UN official sounded warnings last week about "widespread abuses" and "race-driven revenge attacks" by RSF in Bara.

The diplomat warned of patterns comparable to patterns in Darfur, where RSF combatants have been accused of mass killings, sexual violence and abductions against specific ethnic communities.

The religious leader on Sunday urged an prompt truce and the establishment of aid passageways in Sudan, declaring that attacks on civilians and obstacles to humanitarian aid "are producing unacceptable suffering."

Sudan's official envoy to Egypt on Sunday charged RSF of perpetrating war crimes in El Fasher and stated that the Sudanese government would not discuss with the militia organization.

The representative further called on the international community to classify the group as a terrorist group.
